I went to Ali’s 6 week Introduction to Mindfulness course and found it so useful I did not hesitate one moment to join the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course. I think it was one of the best decisions I have made for a long time. The tools that Ali teaches are, for me, life changing. I now have the capability of being able to realise when my thoughts are running away, or when I am becoming anxious or stressed and bring myself back to a relaxed and calm state. It has enabled me to deal with any day to day problems head on, in a highly effective and relaxed way. This now happens so automatically, I wonder how I managed to become so stressed in the past. The meditations and breathing exercises that Ali takes us through are so practical and helpful and I use them often during the day, without the need to take precious time out. My sleep is also much improved. In truth, my whole outlook in life is so much more positive and life has definitely improved. I feel blessed to have these tools at my disposal and cannot recommend Ali and the course highly enough. Ali’s teaching style is wonderful and she herself is a very kind and approachable person. On top of that I feel so blessed to have made some wonderful friends on the course, we are in touch regularly and inspire and cheer each other along.

What an opportunity you have, attending a retreat with Ali Gilling. I absolutely, loved my week with Ali in the Spanish mountains. Ali is an amazing teacher, adapting her yoga teaching to the needs of individuals, and took into account that we were all detoxing, which was so important. I learnt such a lot from Ali and my yoga practice definitely improved, as the week went and I became stronger. I can not recommend Ali highly enough, she is an inspiration, and such a lovely person to be around. I can honestly say she’s one of the best yoga teachers I know.

I had a blissfully relaxing time at Sri Devi Villa in February this year on a yoga retreat let by Ali Gilling. The Villa was incredibly comfortable and felt very luxurious. The individual apartments were very spacious - a friend and I shared one together - and had plenty of space to ourselves, a sitting area, kettle and fridge, plus a beautiful bathroom. Each morning we awoke to a lovely view of the garden and pool. The yoga platform is situated in the garden - a wonderful setting. It was so tranquil, yet teaming with wildlife and bird sounds. It proved to be an ideal space for meditation and breathing exercises, where you could tune into the sounds and rhythm of the place. I especially selected this yoga retreat as it was led by Ali Gilling, who has led other retreats I have been on in the past. Ali’s style is very restorative and nurturing. She supports you to explore a very wide range of postures, whilst listening to your body and going at your own pace. Ali adapts to suit the needs of the group - and of individuals - meaning that everyone has the opportunity to learn about and develop their own practice. This, combined with the wonderful staff at the villa, who were so welcoming and attentive, made it the ideal holiday.

My daughter and I have recently returned from your week in Kefalonia. I’ve done yoga for 40 years and in many parts of the world where I have lived but this was a wonderful experience as well as being a ‘holiday’ and one I hope to do again. The organisation was brilliant and the situation just perfect for yoga and meditation – perfection achieved by our teacher Ali Gilling! She was just brilliant and stopped the 2 daily practices being ‘boring’. And the cost was pitched just right. I’m hopeful of returning next year.
